Concept case · Guesthouses and small hotels

Alísio

A guesthouse website built to bring bookings back home: straight to WhatsApp, without the platforms' commission.

Alísio is a fictional guesthouse. The site is real, it was built by pjerseN, and it is live for you to try.

The challenge

The booking exists. It just doesn't come direct.

Small guesthouses depend on Booking and Airbnb — and pay commission on every booking. In Brazil, Booking.com charges 15% by default and 18% in its preferred programme. Airbnb charges hosts 16%.

And there is a leak almost nobody notices: the traveller already knows the guesthouse, searches its name on Google, finds no official site and goes back to the platform. A booking that was already yours arrives with a discount.

The solution

A site that ends in a booking.

  • Direct booking

The guest picks dates, guests and room, and the message arrives ready in the guesthouse's WhatsApp. They just press send.

  • Phone first

The booking bar stays fixed at the bottom of the screen. From anywhere on the page, booking is one tap away.

  • Photos that move on their own

The photo and room strips scroll on their own, stop on touch and follow the finger.

  • One page per room

Each suite has its own page, with an expandable gallery and everything it offers.

  • Findable and accessible

Hotel structured data and a sitemap for Google. Keyboard navigation, AA contrast and respect for “reduce motion”.

  • Each guesthouse's own identity

The technical foundation is pjerseN's; colours, fonts and photos belong to each guesthouse. The project ships four visual directions — beach, urban, mountain and neutral — as a starting point.

Visual direction

Coastal editorial.

Sand, deep ocean and terracotta. A light serif with italics, plenty of breathing room and the photos as protagonists. The site has to feel like a place — not like a booking system.

The Alísio photos were generated with AI for this project. For a real guesthouse, its own photos go in.

Technology

Under the hood.

Pages are ready before the visit and served from a server close to the visitor. No plugin weighing the page down, no admin panel to keep updated.

  • Next.js 16
  • TypeScript
  • Tailwind CSS v4
  • Static pages
